Columba celebrates two of its Alumni from Tlhatlhogang Secondary School in Soweto, who attended the annual Asia Youth International Model United Nations, AYIMUN, Conference in Malaysia! Out of 11 359 applicants, 4000 were selected internationally to attend this year’s conference and these two young leaders were among them.

Katlego Mthenjane and Puseletso Lefakane from Central Western Jabavu in Soweto got an opportunity to exchange ideas with other great young minds from across the world while also sharing their lived experiences at the conference. The conference programme included diplomatic discussions and symposiums on how to tackle challenges facing different countries, something Katlego and Puseletso looked forward to being part of as they search for solutions to issues in their community.

Puseletso, who calls herself “the Lioness” says, “It was such a great experience and I was able to network and raise the bar high. Thank you so much to Columba and Vodacom for investing in my dream …” Katlego can hardly contain her joy as going to the conference and receiving a certificate will, she believes, change her life and open doors for her. These young women are examples of what happens when one is dedicated to serving others and leading change where you are with what you have. Thank you for stepping up and saying THUMA THINA. Go out there and SERVE with INTEGRITY! #YouthLeadChange #DareToLead #ColumbaGraduates
